Welcome to Health Psychology UAE. I am a consultant Health Psychologist in Dubai, and I am registered in
New Zealand and licensed by the Department of Health and Medical Services in Dubai. I arrived here several years ago after completing an Honorary Research Fellowship at the University of Auckland (NZ). I came here first and foremost because I saw a great need for psychological support services in the health and medical community here, and I am
keen to support and educate the community in any way possible.
I am an independent consultant to various businesses, hotels, and one of the major hospitals in the region.
I have taught Psychology and Health Psychology at university level here, and I write regular contributions on Health Psychology related topics for some of the leading editorials. I have presented at numerous seminars and conferences,
and am a regular guest on both television and radio.
Health psychologists are familiar with a wide range of psychological problems and extraneous circumstances that can
affect a healthy individual in the short and long term (e.g., stress, anxiety, depression; see 'Clinical Work' for more details), as well as major diseases and medical conditions (e.g., cancer, diabetes, immune disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain), and the psychological outcomes and management of these conditions.
Read my monthly article on Health Psychology related topics in Connector Magazine and see my
advertisements in Time Out Dubai and Aquarius Magazine. My details, and the Well Woman Clinic
where I am based, can also be found on ExPat Women (Dubai).
Seeking psychological help should be an active process- you will need to do work on yourself, and it may not be easy at times- but if you sincerely want to change and to help yourself, you will reap the benefits.
